One of my favorites places to eat - delicious and great people - try the dates! Yumm
Signature cocktails are delightful, handcrafted to perfection. The place had great energy, while offering a very comfortable dining experience.
This place has excellent food. Recommend the small and medium size plates, especially the Pork plates and Turkey meatballs. A little pricey and noisy, but worth the effort.
Not the cheapest, but worth it. The menu is different, and most of the dishes are great.
This restaurant is the one I like best. I visit many restaurants but to this one I keep coming back again and again. The crew is very attentive and the cooking they serve is so flavorful. I never decline to have a good meal here. I recommend this place with pleasure.
The octopus was the star of the night. The pallea is a bit overpriced. Overall great place great service. Intimate setting excellent for date night!
Great place, the menu has small, medium and large and all the meals are different. Great bar as well
The food here is great and the atmosphere is equally great. I have been to Gabi James a few times and in every case the food was great. Tonight I had their paella and it was super good. I have had some paellas that were fishy but Gabi nailed it. Not fishy, just great with the right amount of saffron rice, not over powering on the chorizo perfectly cooked shrimp, and clams. We also had the majool dates and cheese appetizers and for dessert we had the churros on chocolate. They have an outstanding gin and tonic selection and I ended up taking our servers advice on a combination of tonic and gin, and it was great. The tonic fever tree elderflower and calyx, buelton. It has a bit of a floral taste and was a great distraction from the usual juniper or cucumber gins.Well worth going and the scenery is quite good too.
Totally fine place, only complaint was that the squid was mostly octopus.
Good food, good ambiance, great spirit and wine selections. Tapas style and a few main dishes, really good. One of the fish items was a bit, well, fishy! They happily credited the bill, no questions asked. Everything else we ordered was really, really good.
Gabi James is so unique with a phenomenal menu and superb service. The decor and atmosphere adds to a great dining experience. Now there is lovely outdoor dining!
The food is good, and the service is good. Worth a repeat. Props to them for experimenting recently and using the upper floor private space for a comedy show. Like the food and the service, the talent was spot on.There is one problem, can't ignore it, costs a star at least. On a busy night, it's too LOUD. Unfortunately, all the surfaces are hard and it's a small space, so sound gets reflected back easily. Conversations start to get louder and louder to overcome the noise from everybody else's conversations, and soon it's unreal loud. I wish they would put some sound dampening materials up on the walls: cloth, plants, anything to absorb sounds. The problem is acute during their busy times. To avoid it, come for weekday lunch or dinner, or if it's warm enough, grab an outside table. At other times, be prepared to say "WHAT?" - a lot - to your meal mate.
It's really nice, and the food is great. Service is very good too. Busy place, nice to see their success. My only suggestion would be to re-write the menu so it's more clear what we have to choose.
The vibe, people, & the food is all GREAT! Robert was our server & he made outstanding recommendations. The croquets were truly like adult tater tots with the perfect amount of chorizo. The Albonigas were almost as good as my mom's! (Love you Mom) the Fiduea was exactly what we had hoped for! Flavor in every bite, perfectly cooked pasta, & seafood that made my tongue do a happy dance! The cocktails were refreshing as we dined on the patio at sunset! Can't wait to go back for more!Oh BTW they have Suntory Hibiki if you enjoy a liquid dessert.
My fiance and I came here for her birthday and we thought that this place was great. The service was impeccable and the food was mostly top notch, except for one thing. Oxtail ragu, calamari, fries, and hand crafted drinks were on point. The Merguez burger was the only underwhelming item we both tried. A burger is something that is supposed to be "safe" to order especially to anyone who is exposed to such an eclectic menu as GJ. But this was not the point at GJ as I dumped 3/4 of it. The flavor of the meat was very gamey and hard to swallow. It may suit others, but not someone like me whose pallet isn't as adventurous. As a Redondo Beach native, I support everything this town delivers and will definitely come back to GJ to try other menu items. For food, I do recommend this place for everything I've tried mentioned above, but the burger not so much.
Absolutely delicious, each dish with a delightful medley of complementary flavors. I cannot recall a better dining experience where each small plate could be enjoyed and Savored for its individual character. I highly recommend a Tempranillo as it works with so many spanish savory and sweet dishes! I will DEFINITELY be returning for more! Outstanding!
Sunday brunch. Wife had delicious French toast. I went w/Greens Eggs and ham. Playfully delicious as well. We will be back for sure!
Wonderful ambiance, great staff and excellent food! I recommend the scallops.
Great atmosphere, very intimate. Food is amazing and delicious, a really creative chef and knowledgeable waitors. Also some great beers. I didn't use Google to find this it was next to where we parked and somehow Google knew we ate there, well enough to ask me for a review... Hello 1984
What a fun restaurant! The food is fresh and the servings are a great size too. The food is great for sharing, if you happen to like that style of dining. The salads, meatballs and tater-tot’s were all excellent! The chips in the basket are a nice alternative to munch on instead of bread. Yummy!!!!
I came here a few times and the restaurant is just beautiful. The outside is so romantic with great lightnings and just has a garden feel to it. I came here a few times and the food was great, however I know better places that are more worth the price.
This is a 5 star Legacy restaurant in charming Redondo Beach Village. Great location. Most sophisticated bar Crystin and Lisa serve the finest cocktails. Try everything. Its all good.
Really great fresh organic food at reasonable prices. Staff is very nice and professional too.
Gabi James is an awesome restaurant!! It is an absolutely fresh, fun, and exciting new spot in Redondo Beach. I am so thrilled to find a new place that has delicious food and great service. I love going to a restaurant that has a very diverse and intricate menu. The salads, olives, tortilla, steak, and meatballs were my favorite dinner items. It has small plates so it makes it easy to try many different items. I am a huge cocktail lover and I was not disappointed! I had the sloe roll and I really loved it. I would recommend not filling up too quickly because the desserts are an absolute must. It is a perfect place to go for date night or even girls night out. It is obvious that the owners poured a lot of heart into the restaurant displayed by the special ambiance, great food, and wonderful service. I would highly recommend trying it out!
A Deliciously Unique Experience....Challenge your senses and Treat Yourself. ! We were so Impressed with Barcelona-esque in our Riviera Village..! A Must Try Eatery. !
Food was quite good, but acoustics were terrible - or was it just the alcohol-infused party of four young customers two tables away from us who were so loud I could not hear my friend speak?
Just ok food. Great cocktails
Always a pleasure eating here.
Stumbled on this place by accident on Mother’s Day after finding most local brunch spots overflowing. A great find! Top shelf bar, top shelf service, (found a way to seat us despite being very busy), delicious Spanish-influenced menu. Can’t go wrong. Delightful dining experience!
Excellent service and location
Great new tapas addition to Hollywood Riviera. Excellent gin cocktail selection and full bar. The roasted mushrooms are a must-try!
Great service, delicious food and really nice setting. Good variety of plates. We came here for brunch and found everything very tasty.
One of the better places in Rivers Village. Good drinks and food .
You must try it. It's different than the regular pub or upscale faire in the Riviera. The drinks are awesome, the food was unique and delicious. We tried things we'd never had before!! Can't wait to go back.
The food is really good, and good portions for tapas-style. I like that they’re trying the tapas concept in the Village - especially after Mediterraneo closed in Hermosa. It’s slightly “higher-end†than Med was, and prices are reflective. IMO, a little too pricey for what it is, and it doesn’t have the cozy, intimate atmosphere of the restaurant that was previously in the same space (Zazou). Promising.
